June 2005 Makel selected as 1 of the top 8 bands out of over 40 submissions to perform at Mohegan Sun's "Sizzling Summer Showdown" on July 13th.

June 2005 Makel is currently working with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation of Connecticut to raise money for a very worthwhile cause. Ribbon Magnets will be available at upcoming Makel shows. All proceeds will go towards fighting breast cancer. www.komenct.org.

June 2005 We were selected as an artist on www.indiepodcasting.com.  Our song "Turning To Day" has been selected for thier promotion assistance and rotation on Alexa Digital Radio at http://www.live365.com/stations/aamedia. It will be featured on thier "Up And Coming" show, daily between 8 PM and 8 AM (EST). It will also play along with major label artists during "Rock-It Radio" between 2 PM and 8 PM.

We are very proud to announce that Makel's, "We were once Confused," is a FINALIST in a worldwide songwriting competition for SongOfTheYear.com!!! Our song was considered in the Adult Contemporary category and was the only finalist for consideration from the UNITED STATES. We are in the process of submitting 3 newly recorded songs for consideration by Grammy award winning judges who have worked and recorded with U2, Michael Jackson, Pink, Dr. Dre, Ozzy, Faith Hill, and the Goo Goo Dolls.
